This pamphlet was developed by the Neurosciences Department at BC Children's Hospital to provide tips for families on recording seizures by using a "Seizure Log."
Information on how to keep your child safe while s/he is having a seizure including: generalized tonic-clonic seizures; complex-partial seizures; simple partial seizures; absence seizures. Also discusses seizure safety in the water, in the bathroom, during sports or activities, while driving.
Paraldehyde is a medication used to treat seizures that last longer than 5 minutes, or come in clusters. This pamphlet explains to parents the right dose, the right time, and the right way to give this medication.
