Superflex Takes On One-Sided Sid, Un-Wonderer and the Team of Unthinkables introduces readers to the Unthinkable One-Sided Sid, who uses his powers to make people talk only about their interests or themselves, and his sister sidekick Un-Wonderer, who uses her powers to keep people from thinking about others. In the story, the clever duo One-Sided Sid and Un-Wonderer are wreaking havoc at Social Town Elementary by invading the brains of kids and getting them to do or say things that show they're only thinking about themselves and not others. Superflex to the Rescue! A multitude of lessons from the Superflex Academy teaches kids strategies for thinking about others and asking questions by using people files, boredom alerts, the Interest-O-Meter, Add-a-Thought, and much more. Abstract
Since we introduced the Superflex® Curriculum in 2008, creative educators, therapists, parents, and related service professionals have come up with all sorts of new ways to teach the concepts and ideas related to Superflex. Yet, you wanted games and visual teaching tools to make your teachings even better.
The Thinkables & Unthinkables Double Deck is the superflexible teaching tool you asked for to use with individuals who are learning about or have already been introduced to Superflex, the 14 original Unthinkables, and the newer characters, the Thinkables (first mentioned in our book, Social Town Citizens Discover 82 New Unthinkables for Superflex to Outsmart).
You take the lead in using the cards ? they?re a blank canvas of possibilities!
Create games such as ?Go Fish? with the cards
Use the Thinkables cards to say ?good job? when a child or student has mostly put an Unthinkable to rest
Use an Unthinkable card as a visual tool to remind a student to use his/her strategies when one of those clever, sneaky characters is invading the student?s brain
Pick an Unthinkable or Thinkable and play ?I Spy?? where students use their Social Detective skills to look for that character showing up in themselves or others in the group, the classroom, or the school.
The possibilities are endless, limited only by your imagination and your own superflexible thinking!
Content
Unthinkables deck: 52 cards with multiples of each of 14 Unthinkable characters
Thinkables deck: 52 cards with multiples of each of 14 Thinkable characters and Superflex cards
Cards contain the character?s image, name, AND powers. Cards are plastic coated, standard playing card size.

Abstract
Superflex Superdecks are card games created to invoke your own superflexible thinking as you teach students to be more superflexible social thinkers. It's all about superflexibility! The game pack is a companion teaching tool to the popular Superflex Curriculum, which helps parents and professionals teach children ages 8 to 11 about social thinking, social regulation, and social problem solving.
The Superdecks are not an introduction to Superflex, and should only be used with students who are already familiar with the concept of being a Social Detective (introduced in the book, You Are a Social Detective), and are either working through or have completed the Superflex Curriculum. The games and activities provided prompt players to think about the powers of the characters, brainstorm which Unthinkable might appear in a situation, match strategies to characters, or Thinkables and Unthinkables, and use their social thinking in other superflexible ways.

Abstract
The social world is a big, complicated place that requires us to constantly figure out hidden rules in situations to help us make sense of how we are all interpreting and responding to each other?s actions and reactions. This book teaches students how to recognize and develop social skills. Every one of us is a Social Detective. We are good Social Detectives when we use our eyes, ears, and brains to figure out what others are planning to do next or are presently doing and what they mean by their words and deeds. This extensively expanded and revised 2nd edition provides all-new illustrations that reflect a broader range of inclusion and diversity in characters, a structured approach to observation, and new and updated lessons which include practice for readers as they learn to become social detectives?a skill set that can then be used everywhere they go, whether it?s at home, school, or within the community. Interventionists will find specific teaching tips and an expanded glossary of Social Thinking Vocabulary and concepts to guide young readers in exploring tools to help them make smart guesses to ultimately figure out the social emotional chain reaction. Enjoy watching your students and own children blossom day-by-day into successful Social Detectives!

Abstract
Superflex (R), our Social Thinking superhero, helps teach elementary shcool studens how they can use strategies to conquer their own, not-quite-so-flexible 'Team of Unthinkables.' Through this humorous and delightful illustrated story book, students are encouraged to think about thinking and what they can do to self-regulate some of their own wayward thoughts and behaviors.
Superflex takes on Rock Brain is part of a series that begins with You Are a Social Detective, followed by Superflex . . . A Superhero Social Thinking Curriculum, where teachers are encouraged to set up their own Superflex Academy. By teaching students to explore the difference between Superflex and a motley crew of the Team of Unthinkables such as Rock Brain, Brain Eater, and Body Snatcher, they can better develop self-awareness and self-monitoring of their own behavior, eventually allowing them to participate in the Superflex Academy Graduation Party. Complete with charming illustrations, practical worksheets, and many, many useful lessons, this curriculum is an effective tool for working with our elementary school students with social learning challenges.

Sing your Unthinkables to rest with these 13 fun, catchy, and educational songs that support our children's social emotional learning as taught through the Superflex curriculum! Each song is an upbeat combination of music and lyrics that can help kids learn more about Social Town, the sneaky Unthinkables, and training at the Superflex Academy to help them seek their "Hero Inside". It was an honor to have our songs written by three-time Emmy nominated songwriters, Michael and Patty Silversher, known for their work writing children's songs for Disney and for the Jim Henson Muppets. Music and lyrics are based on the concepts and characters in the original Superflex curriculum created by Stephanie Madrigal and Michelle Garcia Winner.
