Abstract
How can we live our lives when everything seems to fall apart - when we are continually overcome by fear, anxiety, and pain? The answer, Pema Chödrön suggests, might be just the opposite of what you expect. Here, in her most beloved and acclaimed work, Pema shows that moving toward painful situations and becoming intimate with them can open up our hearts in ways we never before imagined. Drawing from traditional Buddhist wisdom, she offers life-changing tools for transforming suffering and negative patterns into habitual ease and boundless joy.

Abstract
Fun, engaging, hands-on activities to help kids ages 5-9 be kind to themselves and others, and build the emotional strength and resilience needed to thrive!
Children today face many challenges; and if you are a parent, teacher, or a professional working with kids, you may be seeking answers on how to help children thrive in a world filled with uncertainty, adversity, and the detrimental effects of social media and screen time overload. There are tools you can use to help kids build confidence and resilience, and cope effectively with difficult situations. This workbook is packed with a variety of hands-on practices to help children thrive - with kindness toward themselves and others.
In this fun and engaging workbook, the cofounder of the Mindful Self-Compassion for Teens (MSC-T) program offers essential self-compassion and mindfulness skills to help kids build emotional strength and resilience. Kids will find simple, age-appropriate practices based in loving-kindness and gratitude to self-soothe, reduce stress, and respond to their own emotional needs. They?ll also learn to make kindness their "superpower," quiet their inner bully, and protect and befriend themselves.
Activities in the book are designed to facilitate experiential learning, and include:
- Mindfulness meditations
- Reflective journaling
- Hands-on mindful movement activities
- Arts and crafts activities
Self-compassion and emotional resilience are cornerstones of mental health, and research shows that teaching these skills to children when they are young can have lasting, positive effects - well into adulthood. With this workbook as a guide, kids will learn to be a better friend to themselves and others, and thrive in a stress-filled world.

Kids experience anxiety and can feel overwhelmed just like adults do, and this picture book serves as both a story and a step-by-step guide to help calm kids down. Ollie is the puppy living inside of our narrator's head, and when Ollie panics or is too energetic, the narrator feels that way, too! But she learns to handle the situation with her breath and her mindfulness, and by talking it out with an adult.
In plain language and with a rare sense of understanding and compassion, Elise Gravel tackles anxiety in children head-on with bold colors and whimsical illustrations. This picture book also features a note from a pediatrician on the importance of mental health.
Perfect for bedtime or the classroom, readers will walk away a little more well-equipped to handle the puppies in their own heads.

Abstract
"If you have anxiety or suffer from panic attacks, little things like driving, being at a party where you don't know anyone, or even going to the grocery store can seem overwhelming. But these little things are a part of everyday life, and if you try to avoid them, you may end up feeling alienated, lonely, and unfulfilled. Furthermore, simply avoiding anxiety-causing situations will not help you to conquer your anxiety. If anything, it can make it worse! So how can you take control of your anxiety symptoms, once and for all? In The Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Workbook for Anxiety, three mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) experts provide mindfulness meditations and exercises to help sooth anxiety, understand common triggers, and live more fully in the moment. Developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn, MBSR is a powerful, evidence-based treatment model that fuses mindfulness meditation and yoga, and has been proven effective in treating a wide range of chronic disorders and diseases. The mindfulness practices in MBSR help you to cultivate a greater awareness of the connection between your body and mind, and can help you identify and move past the toxic thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that lie at the root of your anxiety.
If you are ready to take the first step toward managing your fears, anxiety, and worry, this book can help show you the way"--from the Publisher

Abstract
"'Let your illness be your spiritual teacher!' Make a statement like that to someone who's struggled for years with, say, rheumatoid arthritis, and be prepared for an eye roll (at best). To Peter Fernando's credit, he makes that statement, and no such impulse arises. We believe him because he's been there himself and because he backs up the statements with his own real experiences and with real wisdom from the Buddhist teachings. Fernando starts by defusing the pernicious belief that anyone is somehow responsible for their illness: you're not "wrong" for being sick. Then, having gotten past self-blame, one can begin to learn self-kindness. From there, one moves to mindfulness practices and cultivating body awareness?even if body awareness is distasteful when the body isn't behaving the way you like. Further topics include getting intimate with dark emotions (fear, despair, the scary future, frustration, grief, etc.), learning equanimity (rejoicing in the good fortune of those who don't share your suffering), cultivating healthy relationships in the midst of everything, and practical advice for living with pain. Each chapter comes with one or more practices or guided meditations for putting the teachings into practice"--from publisher.

Abstract
When facing contentious issues such as screen time, food choices, and bedtime, children often act out or shut down, responding with reactivity instead of receptivity. This is what New York Times bestselling authors Daniel J. Siegel and Tina Payne Bryson call a No Brain response. But our kids can be taught to approach life with openness and curiosity. When kids work from a Yes Brain, they?re more willing to take chances and explore. They?re more curious and imaginative. They?re better at relationships and handling adversity. In The Yes Brain, the authors give parents skills, scripts, and activities to bring kids of all ages into the beneficial ?yes? state.
