Abstract
This picture book introduces young readers to the concept of thoughts and how our thoughts are linked to feelings. By helping children explore how our thoughts create our feelings, we also learn to make choices that help us to manage our feelings (e.g., self-regulate based on our personal goals) across different situations in a day.
It gives children hope that they can learn to rise above whatever situation they may feel ?stuck? in. It teaches them that their feelings do not come directly from what happens to them or what other people do to them; instead their feelings come from the way they interpret what happened to them in that situation. This helps them learn how to understand and manage their thoughts, which then provides them with the power to also manage their feelings to foster their own well-being.

Abstract
When children (under age 12) engage in sexual behaviours it is sometimes difficult to decide when the behaviour is natural and healthy, and when it may be an indication of some distress or disturbance. This booklet provides a definition of natural and healthy childhood sexual behaviours and then contrasts this with twenty characteristics of problematic sexual behaviors in young children. Charts describe children's "natural and healthy" sexual behaviors, behaviors "of concern" and those in need of professioal evaluation. Information is provided on how and where to look for help of an evaluation seems warranted. A continuum of chilldhood sexual behaviors, from natural and healty to children who sexually offend, is described.

Coping with Pain
Abstract
This volume is designed to help pediatric health professionals gain a true understanding of childhood pain. Pain is the most common reason for children to seek a medical consultation and sometimes is the most common reason for avoiding it. Unaddressed fears and anxiety complicate pain management and recovery. This book comprehensively examines children's fears and anxieties that accompany their need for pain relief, and gives the professional the communication skills and words that can help calm these fears. This book is addressed to all disciplines, and is organized into three parts: Part I explores the scientific understanding of pain as a part of children s development; Part II explores pain treatments themselves, their efficacies and how to combine them for therapeutic impact; and Part III uses this understanding to help translate knowledge into clinical practice in three major arenas of pediatric health care and the general practice setting: the physicians office, the dentist's office, and in the hospital.

Abstract
Shane Burcaw was born with a rare disease called spinal muscular atrophy, which hinders his muscles? growth. As a result, his body hasn?t grown bigger and stronger as he?s gotten older―it?s gotten smaller and weaker instead. This hasn?t stopped him from doing the things he enjoys (like eating pizza and playing sports and video games) with the people he loves, but it does mean that he routinely relies on his friends and family for help with everything from brushing his teeth to rolling over in bed.

Abstract
At some point, children become curious about babies. This usually happens when a new baby arrives in a family (or is about to arrive and all the grown-ups are talking about it). But it can happen at other times, too.
Children want to know where babies come from in general. They also want to know, specifically, where they came from. These aren't the same question, and they don't have the same answer.
One answer articulates the unique story of their conception and birth, while the other offers the basics of how all human beings are born. Both stories are valuable. The first connects a child to their personal life history as well as their familial, cultural, and ethnic background. The second connects all children to each other; reminding us that while differences are important, and shouldn't be erased, shared humanity is a pretty cool thing, too.
This book helps adults tell children that second story. It doesn't include information about sexual intercourse, donor insemination, fertility treatments, surrogacy, or adoption. But it creates a space for you to share as few or as many of those details as you like.
Few adults are automatically comfortable talking about these things with children. For this reason, I've developed a simple reader's guide for parents. You can download it for free at www.what-makes-a-baby.com.

Abstract
Not sure what - or how much - information to share with children and teens regarding sex and sexual health? Do you fear what they might ask? Or how to respond to their questions? Or whether you even know the "answers" yourself?
Saleema Noon knows all about these fears and concerns. An expert in sexual health education and stepparent to two teenage daughters herself, she understands the challenges adults face when addressing sensitive topics with their kids.
In Talk Sex Today, Noon delivers an intelligent and sensible blend of current, inclusive, and practical information for children and teens - and the adults who love them. Noon builds on the foundational work of iconic sexual health educator Meg Hickling and her bestselling Speaking of Sex books to offer adults a break-through guide on teaching "body science."
